From toys to mags…is it the new convergence?

For anyone who still doubts the future of magazines, and print in general, here are two new magazines that were launched this year celebrating toys, yes toys… Barbie and Hot Wheels. Need more proof that innovation does not have to end on a screen? Check those two new magazines and have fun girls and boys…it is a different kind of convergence, a one between print and toys and their machines…I presume!   1. Good luck getting distribution for those magazines at a $2.99 cover price. Wholesalers just can’t make money on them without getting a paid incentive to move them.

    But of course they can make money off of the $1.99 crossword puzzle digest magazines…
